Real Life Superhero Phoenix Jones Now Has a Real Life Supervillain
Batman has the Joker. Superman has Lex Luthor. Lindsay Lohan has sobriety. And now, a real life Seattle superhero has his own diabolical villain.
Last year, a masked crimefighter in Seattle named Phoenix Jones made global headlines when police charged him with assault for allegedly breaking up what he thought was a fight with a canister of pepper spray.
Now a super secretive supervillain has emerged from the shadows to challenge Phoenix Jones and his vigilante ways. He calls himself Rex Velvet. Watch his creepy challenge to Phoenix below.
With the video's campy production values and Rex's Joker-meets-The Riddler persona, many are wondering whether "Rex" is just having a laugh at Jones' expense. (After all, the video doesn't reveal any deep plans about how Rex plans to take Jones down.) Though by calling him a "hobo snitch in a mask," Rex is clearly angling for a taste of Jones' patented pepper spray. It's only a matter of time before these two face off atop Seattle's Space Needle or, failing that, a local 7-11 parking lot. Either way, the world of real life superheroes just got real.
