2012 Super Bowl Chevy “Joy” Commercial Advocates Insect Suicide [VIDEO]
During the 2012 Super Bowl, Chevorlet had several commercials advertising their new Chevy Sonic. This particular ad attempted to depict the "joy" that a person would have riding in a Sonic by showing a variety of cute little CGI bugs willingly getting smashed against its grill. Just look at how much fun they're having!
While power-washing crusty insect carcasses from the crevices of you car, have you ever wondered whether or not those little critters enjoyed the ride? Probably not, because most of the time they die on impact. How could that be even the least bit enjoyable?
Maybe Chevy is trying to say, that even though you're likely to be smashed to bits while driving their Sonic, you'll be so overwhelmed with "joy" that you won't mind so much. While this seems unlikely, they do seem to be pandering to our insatiable love for fuzzy little CGI characters. Either way, Chevy may have missed the mark on this one. What do you think?
