Get the tissues ready. This highly effective video from the Beagle Freedom Project, which rescues beagles who have spent their lives inside research laboratories, depicts nine dogs raised in seclusion being released from their crates and into the sunlight for the first time ever.

It's both heartbreaking and inspiring to see the way the beagles timidly react to finally being allowed to walk on grass, and to see how grateful they are for soft human touches, after living lives of constant sensory deprivation.

Watch below, and if you are interested in adopting a rescued dog or donating to the cause you can at Beaglefreedomproject.org.
