Two tongues enter, and only one tongue leaves with the world record for the longest tongue.

Stephen Taylor, left, currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest tongue with a whopping licker of 3.86 inches. However, stand up comedian Nick Stoeberl, right, claims he has beaten it according to, a competing record measuring agency, at 3.988 inches.

Stoeberl has submitted his claim to the Guinness people for official verification. He told the Huffington Post that he has no doubt the record will be verified since he and Recordsetter followed the same criteria for measuring as Guinness's requirements. That includes measuring the tongue from the middle of the tip of the closed upper lip with the average of three measurements submitted as the official length. The measurements also have to be taken from professional medical personnel. A Guinness rep said they would have to see it "first hand" to confirm the record.

I hope they have the good sense to wash their first and second hands afterwards.
