Mountain Dew Wants to ‘Kickstart’ Your Breakfast
Mountain Dew is about to become part of a balanced breakfast.
Later this month, PepsiCo will begin selling a new breakfast drink with Mountain Dew flavor called Kickstart.
The beverage will feature 5% juice, as well as vitamins B and C and a splash of caffeine that should help perk you up before that dreaded morning meeting.
Kickstart isn’t considered an energy drink, per se, because it doesn’t have as much caffeine as Monster or Red Bull nor does it have any other murky ingredients that have caused people to raise an eye towards energy drinks. It's also not considered a soda, either, because of the juice it contains.
Kickstart will be sold in 16-ounce cans and come in flavors such as orange citrus and fruit punch. It will hit shelves on February 25. Breakfast just got "extreme."
