Angry Birds, the Rovio video game that's been downloaded onto eleventy million mobile devices and played by countless people worldwide, is now moving beyond the screen and into the tangible world with its own retail stores.

The first opened in Helsinki, Finland, the birthplace of Angry Birds, and additional locations will soon pop up in China, where the Rovio brand is wildly popular.

The seminal Helsinki store features a giant slingshot like the one you've seen in the video game -- but, fearing kids might launch their little brothers and sisters through a window and onto the street, it's only being used as a prop for photos.

Current merchandise on the shelves include Angry Birds cookbooks, Angry Birds pencil and eraser school kits, and of course the Angry Birds line of plush toys released last year.
