Avast! Just kidding, we don't even know what avast means. But it's International Talk Like a Pirate Day, so people are just chucking it around like it's their business. It's pretty annoying. For a number of reasons. Let's discuss them!

Whether you love doughnuts, or hate your pancreas, Friday, June 7 is National Doughnut Day! Celebrate by getting a free doughnut from Krispy Kreme, or getting a "free" doughnut from Dunkin' Donuts if you buy a drink. If that's a little too tame for you, let these epic doughnuts inspire you to search for a doughnut so good, it's actually worth paying for.

For those of you who didn't know (which might actually be all of you), last Friday the 13th was Cow Appreciation Day. It was a day dedicated to showing your love for the majestic cow by dressing up in a head-to-toe cow costume. We're still perplexed as to how this actually benefits these animals, but regardless the fast-food joint Chick-fil-A was very into this weird holiday.

If you put down that morning Cruller or Long John because you're trying to watch your figure or keep your blood sugar from skyrocketing, go ahead and have one. Just tell yourself it's National Donut Day.

Today, 3/14, is Pi day. The celebration of everything 3.14159 . . . was founded by eccentric physicist Larry Shaw in 1988. Then, in 2009, the US House of Representatives passed a motion to officially recognize Pi Day. Of course, we recognize Pie Day every day.

For the seventh year, February 28th is National Pancake Day. The day was started by well-known breakfast and pancake chain IHOP (International House of Pancakes) as the finale to a month-long charity drive for Children’s Miracle Network.

While it often gets overshadowed by Valentine's Day (or Singles Awareness Day), February 15th is Phil Collins Day. And a much-deserved day it is for a man who emerged from behind his Genesis drum set to sell more than 150 million albums world wide as a solo artist.

Squirrels can be pesky and annoying. They get into bird feeders, stealing food and making a mess. They chatter at you and your pets when you go outside. They run out in front of your car, causing you to swerve dangerously or just run them over like some kind of rodent serial killer. There definitely shouldn’t be a day set aside for appreciating them.

Blame Someone Else Day falls on the first Friday the 13th of every year, and this year, that happens to be this Friday, January 13th. Incidentally, no one has taken credit for creating Blame Someone Else Day. In fact, anyone you ask will probably tell you someone else did it.
