Proving that sometimes it really is better to give than receive, three lucky Michigan Kmart shoppers have had their layaway tabs picked up by a mysterious Secret Santa. Ho ho...oh yeah!

This lady came up ... and said, 'Can I, you know, pay off some people's layaway?'" the Kmart employee who dealt with the unidentified customer said. "It was really crazy the way she did it. She was so excited and so happy to do it ... she said she doesn't want to take appreciation for it. She just felt that she was blessed and she wanted to bless others."

The woman randomly chose and paid for three layaway orders, with her only screening criteria being that each order had some toys on it. In all, she shelled out around $500, leaving a balance of $10 on each of the tickets, on which she scawled, "Happy Holiday from a friend." What, she didn't sign it "Kris Kringle"?

I thank her," one of the beneficiaries said. "It's the best gift that I ever received, and it's the gift of believing in people... And believing that there's good out there, 'cause you don't always see that."
