Miami Heat ‘Good Job, Good Effort’ Fan Identified
After the Miami Heat's surprise home loss to the Boston Celtics in Game Five of the Eastern Conference Finals, Lebron and company were walking off the court dejected. As they made their way through the tunnel, a young fan began yelling at them words of encouragement. 'Good job, good effort," the boy said, repeatedly. Check it out.
The boy's mantra pretty quickly became a meme, with some suggesting he was less than sincere and was mocking the home team for losing a game they were supposed to win.
But NBC was able to track down the nine-year-old. And it turns out Jack Meyer was being nothing but genuine.
"I was actually really depressed in my mind, but I was really happy for the Heat," Meyer said. "They did an amazing job in the game. I just don't see how the Boston Celtics beat them. They were really, really great."
Listen to Meyer -- who's been a Heat fan since he was three -- explain why he yelled his now famous words.
