Florida Man Wrestles Gator to Save Beloved Dog
We already knew that dogs love their masters, but how far will a pet owner go to protect their beloved pooch? In Florida, a 66-year-old grandfather recently wrestled a seven-foot alligator to save his West Highland Terrier. Answer is, pretty far, apparently.
On Tuesday, Steve Gustafson was working in his yard when he witnessed an alligator snatch his nine-year-old dog, Bounce, and attempt to drag her into the water. Without thinking, he sprang into action.
"For whatever reason, I don't know, I just yelled, 'You're not going to get her!' and just leapt on the gator, just like you do some silly belly flop in a pool," Gustafson said. "The only difference was I landed on top of a gator."
Somehow, Gustafon managed to free the dog from the gator's jaws and the two survived without significant injury.
First gators invade our golf courses, now they're after our dogs. What's next?
