While the origins of the Internet stretch back into the '60s, the magical series of tubes started to become  a household phenomenon in the mid-90s.

Jared Newman, a blogger for Technologizer, discovered on a recent trip to his parent's house a high school handout from 1996, which discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the World Wide Web.

It's interesting to see that back when folks browsed on Netscape, searched on Alta Vista -- and "google" sounded like something a crazy person would be babbling on about -- the pros and cons of the internet weren't all that different than they are now.
