First things first: "Hologram Tupac," which impressed and disgusted during the Coachella music festival Sunday, is not a hologram.

According to Ed Ulbrich, whose Digital Domain Media Group created the effect, it's actually a 2-D image. For it to be a hologram, it would have to be 3-D.

But we're going to continue to call it Hologram Tupac because while 2-D 2-Pac might have a nice ring, it doesn't quite explain what is going on. And it looks like we may be seeing more of this Hologram Tupac in the future, as the Wall Street Journal reports that Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are now making plans to take the lifelike image on some type of tour.

'This is just the beginning," Ulbrich told the Journal. "Dre has a massive vision for this."

So how do you feel about Tupac being resurrected as as virtual performer? What if another group of rappers get themselves their own competing Hologram Notorious B.I.G.? Something tells us this isn't going to end well.
