Grannies Playing Basketball Gets an Inspiring New Documentary

'Granny's Got Game' is a documentary film about a senior women's basketball team in North Carolina in their seventies, who battle physical limitations and skepticism to keep doing what they love. The film follows the women for a year as they compete for another National Senior Games championship.

Directed by Angela Gorsica Alford, who herself nearly made it to the WNBA, the amateur filmmaker shows the men in the NBA, who 'retire' from the game as soon as they enter their thirties, a thing or two about long lasting friendship and team spirit. The women have been playing together for years, and despite their ailments, have won numerous medals in sports championships. The senior 'ballers' show no signs of giving up the hoops either.
