
Man Covers Skrillex A Capella
Dubstep is incredibly complicated techno music with sounds that could never be replicated by the human voice. Unless that human is Mike Tompkins, apparently.
Tompkins regularly posts a capella videos to YouTube, both covers and original compositions. He was challenged by his fans to produce a dubstep video. The result is... well, hear it for yourself:
Yes, every single sound in that video is made by Tompkins' mouth and/or voice. Obviously, he used quite a bit of audio distortion and repeating sound files to achieve the full effect. What's impressive is how detailed and thought-out this video is both as filmmaking and in terms of the song. Tompkins is using three cameras here and covering the song as a live recording.
