Car Thief Complains About Stolen Car Damage To Police

Here's a tip for potential criminals out there. If you're going to steal a car, run over the owner, and drive off, it's a terrible idea to bring that car to the police to complain about somebody damaging it.

As stupid as this sounds, Jerry Washington Jr. of Warrior, AL, did precisely this. Earlier in the day he'd stolen the car from Joey Buchanan. When Buchanan and his grandfather stumbled across him, Washington made good his escape, running over Buchanan in the process while the grandfather fired on the car.

Realizing his new wheels were damaged, Washington went to the police to file a complaint. Considering that they were literally looking for Washington right at that moment, they arrested him on the spot.

The moral of the story? Insure your stolen car.
