Pennsylvania Woman Hides in Suitcase to Escape Cops

Woman Hides in Suitcase to Escape Cops
Berks County Sherrif's Department

When we pack for a getaway, we fill our suitcase with swim trunks and suntan lotion. But 28-year-old Pennsylvania woman Charley Fretz packed a suitcase with herself in an attempt to evade police on Wednesday. Needless to say, her creative method of escape didn’t work.

After Fretz skipped two separate court appearances on May 20th and June 4th for fraud, theft and drug charges, police went to her Reading home to issue an arrest warrant.

Fretz was on her front steps when police arrived, but ran inside and locked herself in a second-floor room. After breaking down the door, cops found the room empty. A search, however, revealed that Fretz was inside a zipped suitcase hidden behind a bed. Turns out, her boyfriend helped hide her in the luggage before he fled through a window.

Busted! Now if cops could only solve the mystery of Fretz’s missing eyebrows.
