There are tough people and then there is Margaretta Wolf. The 96-year-old stopped a robbery all by her lonesome earlier this week.

Wolf, who's owned Wolf's Grocery Store in Marshfield, Wisconsin for 50 years, refused to give in when a thug walked in demanding money:

I said, 'I'm not opening up that cash register and that's it. I'm not opening it.' I said, 'You can have all the Tootsie Rolls you want but I am not opening that cash register."

Wolf still refused to let the robber have his way when he put a knife on the counter. Instead, she threatened to call the police. When the bandit spotted a surveillance camera, he hightailed it out of there and authorities have yet to find him.

Maybe they should follow the trail of Tootsie Rolls.
