Looking poor has never cost so much money.

Designer Maison Margiela has made this pair of highly distressed sneakers that cost a ridiculous $1,425. What makes that price tag so absurd? Well, aside from the fact that it costs $1,425 for a pair of sneakers, the kicks look like they've been shredded before a pack of wild dogs chowed down on them.

The shoe is officially called the Future Destroyed High-Top Sneaker, and according to the product description on Nieman Marcus' website:

Maison Margiela deconstructs their "Future" high-top sneaker with heavy distressing.
Leather and textile upper.
Round toe.
Lace-up front with side lace guards.
Logo patch at tongue.
Padded collar.
Cushioned heel counter.
Rubber outsole.
Made in Italy.

In other words, it's like every piece of footwear, except it's got a price tag that will make you run in your worn out shoes for Payless. They're not the only sneakers that have people up in arms.

This is just the latest in questionable high-end clothing. Remember the fake mud jeans that Nordstrom sold for $452? Or the $95 Clear Knee Mom Jeans? After you buy all these big ticket items, we'll see you on line at Goodwill, where you're going to have get all your clothes from here on out.
