Student Pleads for Stolen ‘Elven’ Weapon to Be Returned
In a story that shouldn't surprise anyone looking forward to 'The Hobbit,' a student at Princeton's Forbes College made a Tolkienesque bow and arrow by hand, which he then briefly left at his campus Wawa store. Naturally, it was stolen. As is the norm these days, the student took to the internet to report the incident to try and get the handcrafted weapon back.
Addressed to everyone in the college, the e-mail that went out read:
My roommate inexplicably left his handcrafted bow and a quiver of five arrows at the Wawa convenience store between 2 and 2:30 am last night, and returned at around 2:45 am to find the bow and two arrows stolen. He would like to remind the person responsible that this is a serious elven weapon and not a toy; and further that the hand of Mirkwood, though soft and manicured, shows no mercy. The items in question can be returned to room [REDACTED] with an apology letter written in runic script."
Yes, runic script. An ancient script that used letters known as runes to write various Germanic languages before the adoption of Latin alphabets. Say it together, everyone: NEEEEEEERDS!
