Sarah Churman, the Deaf Woman Who Heard Herself for First Time, Gets a Surprise From ‘Ellen’ [VIDEO]
Last week, a video of 29-year-old Sarah Churman's emotional reaction to hearing for the first time after receiving a cochlear implant circulated the internet.
Churman appeared on 'Ellen' this week, and spoke about the extraordinary feeling of hearing new sounds like her childrens' voices, thunder and even her husband's snoring.
Churman also addressed her speaking voice, which has been the topic of much internet discussion as she lacks the usual speech impediment of a (formally) deaf person. Churman attributed her clear diction to speech therapy and being a "big talker."
Make sure you watch the 'Ellen' segment below to the end, as it contains a surprise that will probably make you well up as much as you did when you saw the original video of Churman hearing for the first time.
