Boy Band One Direction Might Have Koala Chlamydia

Bands have long had a fear of contracting all sorts of STDs, what with the endless bevy of groupies at their wanton disposal. However, even the sordid escapades of The Rolling Stones never had this show up in a physical. Although, if Keith Richards had it, it wouldn't surprise us as much.

Members of the boy band One Direction may have contracted chlamydia from a koala while on a tour in Australia and New Zealand.

Two of the band's members, Liam Payne and Harry Styles, got the once-in-a-lifetime chance to hold a 3-year-old koala. Unfortunately, the koala had to answer nature's call during their visit and gave them another once-in-a-lifetime chance of being urinated on by a koala.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the two did some reading up on koalas and learned that 80% of the species have some form of chlamydia and being in contact with the animal's urine may have put them at risk for contracting the disease. Cases of koalas passing the strain to humans are very rare, but the contact presents a very remote possibility that they may have contracted it. So far, there has been no official confirmation that the two have contracted it.

We know what you're thinking: why couldn't this have happened to New Kids on the Block back in the '80s? That would've saved all of us so much pain and suffering.
