It seems that some Detroit Lions' fans don't want the band Nickelback to perform at halftime during their annual Thanksgiving Day game.

Lions fan Dennis Guttman started an online petition at the website Change.org to convince the Lions to drop the rock band as their choice for halftime entertainment. Detroit is really more of a Kiss city.

According to the petition, Guttman was stunned by the Lions' musical choice to represent Detroit Rock City.

Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?!" Guttman wrote. "Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions? This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. At least the people watching at home can mute their TVs."

So far, the petition has grown some strong legs since Guttman started asking for virtual support three days ago. Over 28,000 people have submitted their digital signature to the petition inching it closer to its 35,000 signature goal.

Poor Nickelback. It seems like only yesterday that they lost the Facebook popularity race to a pickle.
