Kennedy — MTV VJs Then and Now
Then: Born Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, Kennedy got her start as an intern at the Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM, where her handle was ''The Virgin Kennedy.'' A year later in 1992, she joined MTV, where she became the host of 'Alternative Nation,' the show that helped draw attention to bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
Now: After leaving MTV, Kennedy returned to her first passion, radio. She continues to make the occasional television appearance on shows like 'Best Week Ever,' 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,' and 'Red Eye.' Through her work on television and radio, Kennedy has emerged as a political commentator and satirist. Memorably, she drew notice by declaring atheism a religion on Reason.com.
