Hilarie Burton — MTV VJs Then and Now

Then: Burton made her television debut on 'Total Request Live' in 2000. Initially, she was hired to be a guest commentator, but she so impressed producers that they offered her a permanent position. Burton continued working on the show until its final episode in 2008. She also hosted 'MTV Hits' from 2002-2003.

Now: Burton is one of the few MTV VJs who has managed to successfully make the leap to an acting career. Rather than the occasional cameo or guest appearance, Burton has been working steadily as a TV actress since 2003, when she was cast as Peyton on the popular teen-centered drama 'One Tree Hill.' Most recently, she was a series regular on the USA dramedy series 'White Collar.'
