Diaper Miraculously Saves Toddler From Drowning

Early Tuesday morning, a father, mother and 3-year-old daughter plunged into a lake in Florida while traveling in a car. Tragically, one parent died, but the baby may have survived because of her diaper.

According to police, mother Catherine Copeland had just been pulled from the lake when toddler Sariyah Michel suddenly bobbed to the surface, presumably held afloat by her buoyant diaper.

Witnesses say the accident occurred because the parents were arguing and fighting for control over the wheel. The baby's father, Sandro Michel, drowned.
