Cockroaches are bad enough, but just imagine if you found one of these newly-discovered bioluminescent critters crawling on your bathroom floor one late night. We're not ashamed to admit we'd probably shriek and run. The only saving grace for this freaky-looking new species is that they resemble Jawas from 'Star Wars.' So, you know, that's something.

The South American species, which is known as Lucihormetica luckae, appears normal enough at first glance. But when placed under a fluorescent light, brightly glowing spots are revealed, including two near its head that look uncannily like the eyes of everyone's favorite scavengers from the classic 1977 film.

Scientists think the roaches are mimicking the appearance of a toxin-producing beetle that lives in the same area as a way to deter predators. But as far as we're concerned, it looks like these bugs are readying themselves for life on Tatooine.
