While the snowpocalypse many meteorologists predicted would destroy New York City didn't come to fruition, the forecast did have quite an impact.

The storm bludgeoned the New England region and hit Long Island hard, but it didn't pound the Big Apple as many expected. Beforehand, though, New Yorkers cleared out of the streets, making the metropolis look emptier than your mother-in-law's soul.

Seriously, New York was quieter than a church mouse -- and odds are any mice in a church probably found someplace warmer to hide.
