Beyonce Sings National Anthem at Obama’s Inauguration

Today Beyonce tackled a singer's most challenging assignment, not only singing 'The Star Spangled Banner,' but doing it live at a Presidential inauguration ceremony.How'd she do? Well, not too bad. She's obviously nervous, but partway through you can see her take out the earpiece to the monitor that lets her hear herself and really begin to relax into it. A sweet and uplifting moment -- hardly the triumph of Whitney Houston's unforgettable 1991 rendition (see below), but certainly worthy of today's historic occasion.
