Watch Dedicated Walk-On Basketball Player Find Out He’s Earned Scholarship, Tell Thrilled Family
Here's one way to pay for college.
James Montgomery III has served as a walk-on with Northwestern University's basketball team for the last two years, but his hard work has (literally) paid off.
Head coach Chris Collins recently gathered the team around to let everyone know Montgomery has been rewarded with a scholarship. Translation: he can toss those tuition bills in the trash.
Montgomery may be thrilled, but it pales in comparison to the joy his mother and sister felt after he filled them in. They were left weeping. Hey, if we just found out we don't have to worry about a hefty tuition bill we'd cry tears of joy, too.
