2045 Initiative Plans to Establish a New Immortal Mankind
Most of us have a difficult enough time just getting up in the morning, let alone planning our future goals for the next 33 years. However, a 31-year-old Russian billionaire by the name of Dmitry Itskov is doing just that, as he is currently working with a plethora of scientific minds to develop a way to transfer human consciousness to an artificial form – with a goal of human immortality by 2045.
It is called the 2045 Initiative, and the plan to develop “immortal” technology to achieve human immortality is outlined in detail.
“The first phase is to create a humanoid robot dubbed ‘avatar,’ and a state-of-the-art brain-computer interface system. The next phase consists of creating a life-support system for the human brain and connect it to the ‘avatar.’ The final phase… is to create an artificial brain in which to transfer the original individual consciousness into,” according to the website.
The Russian-based Initiative has also established its own political party, called Evolution 2045, in which it is encouraging other countries to join them in new human development “not in the arms race, but in the race for building a bright future for mankind.”
In an open letter to members of the Forbes World’s Billionaires List, Itskov explained the importance of funding scientific development in the field of cybernetic immortality and the artificial body, stating that “Contributing to cutting-edge innovations in the fields of neuroscience, nanotechnology and android robotics is more than building a brighter future for human civilization.”
According to the Initiative, “The new human being will receive a huge range of abilities and will be capable of withstanding extreme external conditions easily -- high temperatures, pressure, radiation, lack of oxygen.”
Although we are not entirely sure what the cost of one of these avatars will set a person back once mass production begins, the Initiatives website claims the cost should be relatively close to the price of an automobile.
Now, if they could only tell us if that cost is for a basic model or one that is fully loaded. Want more info? Check out the official 2045 Initiative video below.
