Whether or not you thought their 500th episode was a crowing success, you have to at least get a little bit excited that this spring, Lady Gaga will be making a guest appearance on the season finale ‘The Simpsons.’

Back in August, Entertainment Weekly broke the news with an exclusive photo of our Lady of Pop recording her lines for the episode. In it, Gaga visits Springfield after finding out the citizens are running low on self-esteem. She uses song, the power of speech and a flash mob to cheer up a down-trodden Lisa in the episode titled ‘Lisa Goes Gaga.’

The artist was excited to appear, but nervous about staying true to the talent involved in the show. She told EW, “I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor.”

Show executives jumped eagerly at the chance to have the pop star as a guest. Creator Matt Groening wanted to add her iconic personality to the list of guests and executive producer Al Jean summed it up by saying, “For the first time in the history of ‘The Simpsons,’ we are honored to have on a show business legend who is younger than our show.”

The episode will air this spring, but no date has yet been announced.
