The first trailer for the highly anticipated screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s high school novel 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' premiered during the 2012 MTV Movie Awards pre-show. Starring Emma Watson (Hermoine from the 'Harry Potter' films - in case you forgot) and Logan Lerman ('Percy Jackson'), the teen drama has gotten a lot of buzz and created a lot of fervor among the book's fans.

The story explores the awkward times of adolescence and is told through Charlie (Lerman), a high school freshman who at first is shy and unpopular, until he meets the quirky Sam (Watson) and her gay stepbrother Patrick. 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' was written by Stephen Chbosky and published by MTV in 1999. Given the surge in teen-oriented drama thanks to the success of 'Twilight' and 'The Hunger Games,' it's no wonder Summit Entertainment and MTV decided to cash in on the novel.

Produced by the same team that made 'Juno,' the buzz surrounding the movie have been largely positive as the film is written and directed by Chbosky himself. 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' hits theaters nationwide September 14. Check out the trailer below.
