The small Missouri town of Lawson has an opening for a new mayor, but nobody seems willing to take the position.

The town's current mayor, Chris Lanning, isn't seeking reelection and no one is running to be his successor. Given that, the mayor has called for a write-in during the next municipal election, but town officials worry that the winner may not actually want the job.

And could you really blame them? The position includes all the responsibility one would normally have as the mayor of a town of 2,400 people, and scant pay. The job reportedly only pays between $200-300 a year in salary.
