Fans of George R. R. Martin's acclaimed fantasy series 'Game of Thrones' should consider themselves lucky that the bloody and often racy books were adapted by HBO instead of on network television. Bluntly put, it'd be so excruciatingly horrible that we'd probably vow to never watch TV again. Don't you think? Well, if you don't... you're just wrong. But if you need proof, watch below.

The sitcom-y, "NBC version" would be completely unwatchable compared to the current acclaimed version of 'Game of Thrones.'

As much as NBC might have been revered back in the day for having hits such as 'Friends' or 'Seinfeld,' the Peacock Network just doesn't have that same level of quality shows today. Don't get us wrong... 'American Ninja Warrior' is an amazing show (no it's not), but it just doesn't live up to 'Seinfeld' (it doesn't live up to the 'Jersey Shore, actually').

While the Peacock is busy trying to create the next 'Seinfeld' (or, more likely, the next 'Whitney'), fear not fellow TV watchers. There's always HBO. And you know, of course, it's not TV. It's HBO.

Kudos to the people who put this video together. It's hilarious, well constructed and shows us all too well the cheesiness of network television. Long live both pay and non-pay cable!
