Divers Fend Off Hungry Great White Shark

As we've learned in the past, shark encounters can be pretty funny from the safety of dry land.

But things got deadly serious in Australia when a great white shark started circling divers Nathan and David.

The pair had just set out spearfishing and Nathan had put a camera on his head to film the expedition. Instead, he got footage of a 10-foot-plus predator menacing them as they tried to figure out how to get back to their boat. Check out the harrowing video below.

The great white circled the divers three times. Somehow they stayed calm during their ordeal and when the shark finally turned to face them they poked him with their spear guns.

Miraculously, that was enough to convince the killing machine to go elsewhere to look for prey.

"I think if it wanted to it could make a meal of us," David conceded.

Having escaped being lunch, David and Nathan now have an amazing story with the video to back it up.
