During a report on an ordinance that only allows the city sidewalk cafe's to stay open until 10 PM, Bill O'Neil of News 12 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina tried to spice up the mundane subject by sitting in one of these sidewalk cafes during his live shot. If not for a gray-haired woman who continued to use the sidewalk for how it was intended, the set up would have worked just great.

In the signature play of West Virginia's 70 to 33 thrashing of Clemson in this year's Orange Bowl, Mountaineer safety Darwin Cook returned a fumble 99-yards for a touchdown. After he crossed the goal line for the score, Cook spotted Obie, the Orange Bowl mascot, cheering in the back of the endzone and delivered to the oversized fruit what wresting fans would identify as a flying clothesline.
