Released in 1988 and starring future megastar Tom Hanks, 'Big' told the story of a boy who makes a wish to be big at a magic fortune-teller machine. When he wakes up the next morning, he finds that he has become an adult literally overnight, and that being big isn't all it's cracked up to be. 25 years later, we revisit the cast of this treasured classic and see what they're up to now.

Then: Tom Hanks was director Penny Marshall's first choice to play the grown-up version of Josh Baskin. But when Hanks was unavailable, Marshall moved on to her other top picks: the studio turned down John Travolta, considering him to be box-office poison at the time, and Robert De Niro wanted too much money. Harrison Ford was also considered, but then Hanks became available and took the role.

Now: Hanks is one of America's most beloved movie stars, winning acclaim for roles in 'Forrest Gump' and 'Cast Away.' He recently starred in the generation-spanning sci-fi epic 'Cloud Atlas,' and can be seen next as Walt Disney in 'Saving Mr. Banks.'

Then: While Robert De Niro was attached to star (when Hanks was temporarily too busy), David Moscow was re-cast as Billy, young Josh's friend, but when Hanks became available to play grown-up Josh, Moscow's role was switched back to young Josh. He had to wear contact lenses so his eyes would match with Hanks'.

Now: In 1992, Moscow starred in the Disney musical film 'Newsies,' and remains friends with co-stars Max Casella and Luke Edwards. He hasn't starred in a whole lot of movies since, and his last acting credit is the 2009 film 'Vacancy 2: The First Cut.' He once had a relationship with actress Kerry Washington.

Then: Debra Winger was originally considered for the role of Susan Lawrence, grown-up Josh's love interest, but Winger was unable to participate in the film due to a pregnancy, so she suggested Elizabeth Perkins, star of 'About Last Night ...'

Now: Perkins has starred in films such as 'The Flintstones' and '28 Days,' but she's known best for her highly acclaimed performance as Celia Hodes on the Showtime series 'Weeds.' She recently returned to television for the short-lived sitcom 'How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life).' She is married to cinematographer Julio Macat.

Then: Robert Loggia played MacMillan, owner of a toy store -- his character was based on then-CEO of FAO Schwarz Peter Harris. On the day that Loggia and Hanks filmed the memorable giant keyboard scene, Loggia noted that the two had doubles just in case they couldn't perform the necessary dance moves, so Loggia and Hanks made it their goal to do the entire scene without the doubles.

Now: Loggia is a legendary actor with a sizable resume, including roles in 'Independence Day' and 'Lost Highway.' He recently starred in 'Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie.'

Now: Heard is probably known best for playing Kevin McAllister's dad in the 'Home Alone' movies. In recent years, he's made the B-movie circuit, appearing in 'Would You Rather' and the Syfy insta-classic 'Sharknado.'

Then: The 'SNL' alum played Josh's co-worker, Scotty Brennen. Lovitz and Hanks share an 'SNL' connection -- Hanks has hosted the show seven times.

Now: Lovitz and Hanks reunited for the baseball dramedy 'A League of Their Own' in 1992. Lovitz recently had another reunion with fellow former 'SNL' star Adam Sandler for his movies 'Hotel Transylvania' and 'Grown Ups 2.'
