‘The Very Virile Viking’- Cheesy Romance Novel Covers

It seems like someone got a bit creative with their idea of what a Viking looks like. Where’s the classic helmet? And why is he wearing leather? Then again, in Sandra Hill’s novel, this particular Viking is also a time traveler who goes forward to 2003. So maybe that excuses the fact he looks more like Brad Pitt in 'Troy' than any Viking we've seen.

The toned chest, piercing stare and erm, raised sword, all build up an image of the cringe-worthy 'Very Virile Viking’ which makes it quite clear the vow of celibacy he takes in the novel will not be kept to. We hope he’s not so virile he fertilizes a sequel…
