When Gamera, an African spurred tortoise,  had to have his left front leg amputated because of a tissue disorder, the vets at at Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine came up a novel way to keep the little guy mobile. They took advantage of the reptile's lower shell, and glued an office chair swivel wheel to the area where Gamera's leg used to be.

More than 150 diamondback terrapin turtles disrupted air traffic at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on Wednesday as they tried to find the perfect spot to lay their eggs -- in the middle of the tarmac. JFK is surrounded by bay and wetland areas, and apparently there's a sandy spot the turtles like that's right across from Runway 4.
