Curse of the Demon – The Worst VHS Covers

The "demon" on this cover looks more like something Super Mario would fight. The crude artwork and dripping blood just screams, "I was drawn by an eleven year old boy!" You would think it's B-movie schlock made a shoestring budget.

Well, the joke's on you. This is actually a pretty well made film, originally titled 'Night of the Demon' from 1957. In it, an American scientist runs afoul of a Satanic cult in England who are determined to summon forth an otherworldly demon. It's taut, suspenseful, well-acted and topped off with good special effects for its time. But you wouldn't know that by looking at this atrocious cover, would you?
