What Would Happen If the Large Hadron Collider Zapped Your Hand?

For a few years now, nerds and scientists have been debating what would happen if someone put their hand in front of the beam of the Large Hadron Collider. Finally, one guy decided to ask this question of every science guy he could find.

First things first, though -- what the heck is the Large Hadron Collider? Basically, it's a particle accelerator that nearly replicates the after effects of the "Big Bang." So naturally we want to know what would happen if we introduced a human hand into the mix.

And the verdict is... "You'd die pretty quickly."

This device is essentially a war beast that can burn a hole through more than six feet of copper. We are going to have to agree with the scientists on this one. Sticking your hand inside this thing is probably not the best idea.
