Watch Jordin Sparks’ Moving Tribute to Whitney Houston at The Billboard Music Awards

Whitney Houston was more than just a great voice. The singer, who passed away earlier this year, was also one of the greatest hit makers in music history. In fact, she is the only artist to ever chart seven consecutive number one hits on Billboard's Hot 100.

Given that pedigree, it was a sure bet Houston would be a big part of this year's Billboard Music Awards. The only question was who would be singing her songs.

That lofty task was given to John Legend and Jordin Sparks, with the former 'American Idol' winner doing the really heavy lifting by singing Whitney's difficult signature tune 'I Will Always Love You.' See how Jordin did below.

It's probably safe to say that Whitney would have approved.

After Sparks' performance, Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina, who had been seen tearing up while Sparks sang, accepted Billboard's Millennium Award on her late mother's behalf.

But Whitney wasn't the only artist to get a posthumous tribute. Cee Lo Green and Goodie Mobb performed a moving tribute to the late Adam Yauch of The Beastie Boys, while Natasha Bedingfield was sadly cut off during her Donna Summer tribute.
