The "walk and talk" is so common on TV that it's appeared virtually everywhere, from 'Law & Order' to 'Seinfeld' to 'Power Rangers.' Walk and talk with us as we explain further, won't you?

This awesome supercut from the folks at Slacktory gives examples of the "walk and talk" technique as it was used in dozens of shows. "Walks look good on camera," explains Hugh Laurie in 'House.' "They give the illusion the story's moving forward."

Some of these shows use the well-worn plot device unconsciously, while others -- 'The West Wing' in particular -- do it tongue-in-cheek.

Of course, the technique is used to convey how busy characters are, but it's also a great way to seamlessly transition from one location to another. Where would modern TV be without it? Stuck in the world of stage productions, that's where.
