It seems inevitable that one day man and phone will become one. At some point in the future, we will make calls by thinking about the person we want to talk to and then listen to their voice through a chip in our ear. But is that future closer than we think?

Nokia Tatto
loading...

Mobile phone company Nokia has filed for a patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office for a special tattoo which communicates with the wearer's phone and vibrates when they have a call, text or email. There would be different vibrations for different callers and texters, and the tattoo would also alert the wearer if their phone's battery was low.

According to the application, the effect is created by magnetic waves. While the wearer could opt to have it look like a traditional tattoo, it could also be invisible for those who don't want to appear marked by technology.

So do you think this could catch on? Are we getting closer to living in the world of 'Minority Report'? Would you get a tattoo like this? If you did, you'd never have an excuse for missing a call. And that might not be such a good thing.
