Would You Believe This Tortilla Is Actually a Working Record That Plays Music?

Subscribe to TheFW on

Most music is digital these days, which makes this innovation all the more remarkable.

The team at Rapture Records decided to make a record out of a tortilla after a video of a tortilla on a record player went viral earlier this year. They etched the tortilla with a laser cutter and were on their way to making the next big top 40 hit.

Well, okay probably not that big of a hit, but the song — “The Mexican Hat Dance” — did indeed play.

Playing records is old school, so we guess playing this well-known Mexican number is, ahem, olé school.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to try and make a 8-track player out of a used Capri Sun box.
