Thanks to Facebook, dumb criminals now have a new way to botch their wrongdoings. Take this 20-year-old man, for example, who was arrested after posting a Facebook photo of himself stealing gas from a cop car. Duh.

Michael Baker, a Kentucky resident, was arrested on Monday after posting a Facebook photo of himself flipping the bird while siphoning gas from a Jenkins Police Department squad car. According to Baker, his girlfriend took the photo.

“We was just standing there and thought it would be funny to take a picture and then post it on Facebook,” he told local news station WYMT. (Is anyone else NOT shocked by his bad grammar?)

According to Baker's girlfriend, Joann Sandelin, the photo was meant as a joke and nothing was actually stolen. But Baker told WYMT otherwise. “I got a little bit of gas,” he said. “I ain’t gonna lie, but not much. I couldn’t get much. I tried, but there wasn’t much in it.”

After police found the incriminating photo, Baker was arrested and charged with theft. As a result of the crime, the Jenkins police department is now reportedly looking into lockable gas caps. Wise move, we say.
