The SOPA/PIPA protests, which have rendered the internet strange and Wikipedia-less on this eighteenth of January, now have themselves a proper protest song.

Set to the tune of the Don McLean classic ‘American Pie,’ YouTuber LaughPong’s “The Day The LOLcats Died” imagines a terrifying new world in which SOPA/PIPA has passed Congress, and the internet is suddenly devoid of all the awesome (and sometimes not so awesome) content that you take for granted every day.

Watch it, sing along, and, remember, if SOPA/PIPA becomes the law of the land, “you’ll be left with nothing more to Tweet.”
