Thai Buddhist Group Makes Steve Jobs a 'Celestial Warrior-Philosopher'

Apple's founder may have passed on, but his spirit is still with us, according to a group of Buddhists in Thailand.

The Dhammakaya Temple announced on television that the late Steve Jobs has become a "celestial warrior-philosopher" in his next life, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The news was sparked by a software engineer who emailed the Temple asking if they knew what happened to Jobs following his death. Phra Chaibul Dhammajayo, the abbot of the Temple, claimed that Jobs' spirit has been reincarnated. He says that he is now "a divine being with a special knowledge and appreciation for science and the arts." Really.

Steve Jobs didn't invent the internet. (We all know who did that.) But the Apple founder certainly created a lot of elegant devices which helped to make Web browsing the second nature that it is today.

Jobs, who died last October, was honored as a visionary Monday Night during the 16th annual Webby Awards, which was hosted by Patton Oswalt.

No one's ever accused Ashton Kutcher of being smart. He played an airhead on 'That 70s Show' and some of his decisions -- like his controversial "brownface" PopChips commercial and that Joe Paterno tweet -- are evidence of that. But, he was smart enough to hop on the 'Two and a Half Men' train and to land the role of a lifetime, playing Steve Jobs for the Apple founder's biopic, which just started shooting and is scheduled to release in 2013.

However, the bigger question is: Was it a smart decision by the film's producers to cast Kutcher as Jobs?
