With a soda-fountain revival underway, a burning question remains: when you order a soft drink, do you call it "soda," "pop," or use "Coke" as a catch-all term?

According to the map put together by the site Pop vs Soda, it seems the answer is largely regional. For example, Southerners call pretty much all soft drinks "Coke," even if the beverages aren't actually Coca-Cola, while people in Midwestern and some Western states order "pop." Meanwhile, New Englanders and Californians heavily favor calling the drinks "soda."
