Although we'll always have a soft spot in our hearts for Lara Croft, it's no secret the long-running 'Tomb Raider' franchise has had its fair share of ups and downs. But on March 5, game makers hope to reboot the series with the simply named 'Tomb Raider,' an M-rated title that promises to graphically depict how iconic heroine Lara Croft makes the transition from inexperienced young woman to field-tested scrapper.
But don't worry, fans of awkwardly exposed gams on the red carpet. A Polish model named Anja Rubik has taken the "Jolie-ing" torch from Angelina and brought it to its inevitable (and possibly NSFW) conclusion.
In the upcoming Disney movie ‘Maleficent,’ Angelina Jolie will play the titular evil queen, who is the villain of the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ story. The movie follows the ‘Wicked’-inspired trend of seeing a story through the villain's eyes, while getting a glimpse into the full range of Maleficent's history and personality, rather than showing her just as a one-dimensional mean girl.
This year's Oscars was a rather dull affair. The only saving grace came from actress Angelina Jolie, and her right leg, which she exposed through the slit black dress she wore on the big night. The resulting leg pose gave us, and the internet, enough inspiration to poke fun. It also didn't take long for a new internet meme, affectionately called "Jolie'ing," to go viral.
When Jim Rash, who had just accepted the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay from Angelina Jolie, imitated the right leg exposed pose that the actress was for some reason doing throughout the entire Academy Awards, it became the first example of "Jolie'ing." Then when his co-winners Alexander Payne and Nat Faxon followed suit in the imitation, Jolie'ing officially become a trend.
Like everybody else either at or watching the Academy Awards, Jim Rash couldn't help but notice that Angelina Jolie was spending an awful lot of time flaunting her right leg through a slip in her gown.
The 2012 Oscars have come and gone, and two breakout stars have clearly emerged. No, we're not referring to Jean Dujardin and Jennifer Lopez's nipple. We are of course talking about Uggie, the adorable Jack Russell terrier who was the true star of Best Picture winner 'The Artist,' and the almighty leg of Angelina Jolie.
